The Brooks Bombers have kicked off the 2025 season with an impressive performance. Their momentum began with a victory against the Lethbridge Bulls during their home opener on Friday, May 30. This was followed by another win on the road in Swift Current the very next night.
The Bombers have since split their two-game series with the Energy City Cactus Rats (formerly the Edmonton Prospects) and also divided their series in Moose Jaw over the weekend of June 7 and 8. Despite recent setbacks with losses against both Okotoks and Medicine Hat, the team’s players and coaches remain optimistic.
“I really like the team we have this year,” said General Manager Jason Wandler. “They have given fans some very entertaining ball games. This team has shown they never give up and continue to battle until the last out. Don’t even count these guys out,” he added.
Looking ahead, the Bombers are set to host the Saskatoon Berries on June 12 and 13, followed by a matchup against the Sylvan Lake Gulls on Father’s Day. They will also face the Bulls and Dawgs in single home games on June 18 and 19, respectively, before a two-game series with Fort McMurray on June 21 and 22. The Dawgs will return to town on June 24, and the Weyburn Beavers will wrap up the month with games on June 29 and 30.
The Brooks Bombers are eager to welcome fans to Elks Field and encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the action. Board member Brandy Haag expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are so fortunate to have a WCBL team right here in Brooks. Players come from all over to play here, and we’re so lucky to have this right in our backyard.”
