Bombers Earn All Star Honors

When the Western Canadian Baseball League announced there would be a All Star Game this summer, we knew that Brooks would be represented, this question was, who?  That question was answered this past week when the WCBL released the rosters for tomorrows All Star game in Edmonton.

Starting pitcher Nick Garcia, Outfielder Josh Mcintyre, First Baseman McCoy Pearce and Head Coach Kyle MacKinnon, were all given the honor to represent Brooks.  Nick Garcia has been carving up hitters over the summer, with his best game coming on June 22nd against the Giants, when he pitched a complete game shutout with only 84 pitches.  Josh McIntyre has been a hot streak at the plate as of late, on the season he is batting .343 with 14 RBI and 23 Runs Scored.  McCoy Pearce is leading the Bombers with 27 RBI's and 7 HR's, he is also batting .347 on the season.  With Okotoks leading the Western Division at the time of the selection process, Head Coach Mitch Schimdt was the automatic choice and made him responsible for selecting the coaching staff, with that Mitch slected Bombers Head Coach Kyle MacKinnon to join him, making Coach Mac the 4th Bomber to be selected to the All Star Game.

This is a great honor for these four gentlemen to be selected to the WCBL's Innaugural All Star Game under the new name and it gives the Bombers great pride having these four men represent our team and community.  Congratulations Nick, Josh, McCoy and Coach Kyle!
